Development Objectives

The Timber Museum of New Zealand Trust's objective is to create a unique attraction telling the story of the development of the Timber Industry within the South Waikato over the past 104 years through physical and interactive exhibits.

Preserving and celebrating the district's rich history educating visitors by depicting the stories in the change of reliance from native to exotic timber. Telling two over arching stories: the Indigenous Timber Production & Processing (TTT story) and the Exotic Timber Development & Processing (NZFP story). This will involve rearranging buildings and exhibits redirecting the flow of visitors.
